Get a card
Give me your address and one day, without warning, a handmade postcard will land on your mat with something kind written on the back of it.
Every card I make goes to somebody. Sometimes the person buying it knows exactly who — a friend, a family member. The rest go to strangers, people I don’t know, whose addresses come from a list titled ‘current resident’ rather than a name. And you can join this list here and receive a postcard too!
I cannot tell you when you might receive a postcard. There is no queue to watch and no place to check. It might be a few weeks, it might be a good deal longer, but it will arrive on an ordinary day when you have forgotten you ever asked. That is rather the point of it.
What I can tell you is that the people who offer their own address will go to the top of the list before the random pool of addresses, so you would be near the front. And your card can have your name on it or you can use the ‘current resident’ title.
Anyone in the world can add their address to this pool. Just type it the way it needs to be written.
Where should it go?
This is what I will write on the card, so give me the name you would like to be called.

Type it the way it needs to be written, line by line. You can leave the country off — you have told me that already.
Either is fine. Some people like seeing their own name come through the door; some would rather stay anonymous even to me.
Two reasons for this; I send you one note to check this really came from you, and it gives you a way to ask me to take your address out again. Nothing else is ever sent to it.

There is a note on its way to your inbox with a link in it. Click that and you are on the list. Until you do, nothing is kept.
What I do with it
- Your address is only ever used to send you a card. It is not sold, not shared, and never appears anywhere on this website.
- I read every one before it goes in the list. Not to judge it — only to be sure it is a real address offered by the person who lives there.
- Your address is deleted the moment it is used. An address in the list waits its turn, and that can be a long wait. As soon as your address is used it will be deleted from the database. Once you receive the card you can add your address to the pool again. At any time you can ask to have your address removed.
- Your email is for two things only — the note that checks this was really you, and hearing from you.
- You will never be sent a card you paid for. If you have bought cards from me as well, the list knows, and it will not hand you your own one by accident.
